Ajarn Chalermchai Kositpipat
Ajarn Chalermchai Kositpipat is one of the most influential artists of modern Thailand. He masterfully merges traditional Buddhist art with contemporary expression, creating a unique visual language that speaks across cultures and time.
In 2011, he was named a National Artist in Visual Arts (Painting), an honor that reflected his lifelong devotion to Thai art and culture. He has since voluntarily stepped down from the title, yet his contributions and cultural legacy remain widely respected.
His magnum opus, Wat Rong Khun (The White Temple), is a testament to his unwavering devotion, personal sacrifice, and visionary spirit. For over two decades, he has poured his heart, soul, and resources into creating this sacred space as an offering to Buddhism and a gift to the world.
Beyond his artistic achievements, Ajarn Chalermchai is a fierce advocate for cultural preservation and a mentor to new generations of Thai artists, ensuring that the soul of Thai art continues to thrive into the future.

Ajarn Songdej Thipthong
A distinguished Buddhist artist from Chiang Rai and founder of the Songdej Thipthong Art Gallery, Ajarn Songdej is known for his profound contributions to both traditional and contemporary spiritual art. In 2024, he was honored with the “Sao Sema Dhammachak” Royal Award by the Department of Religious Affairs, Ministry of Culture — a prestigious national recognition granted to individuals who have significantly contributed to the promotion and preservation of Buddhism. This award affirms his role as a spiritual and artistic leader whose works continue to inspire artists and communities across Thailand.
